Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair

Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) System Oil Filter

1. Remove the LH valve cover.
2. Remove the RH valve cover.
3. Remove the components in the order indicated in the illustration and table.

4. To install, reverse the removal order.

1. NOTE: LH is shown, RH is similar.

Remove the bolt and the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) solenoid.

Items 1 and 3: VCT System Oil Filter Cap Installation Note

Install VCT solenoid and the bolt.
