Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Control Module

1. WARNING: To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the backup power supply must be depleted before repairing or replacing any front or side air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) components and before servicing, replacing, adjusting or striking components near the front or side air bag sensors, such as doors, instrument panel, console, door latches, strikers, seats and hood latches.

Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.





2. Remove the parts in the order listed in the above illustration and table.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 1: Control Assembly Removal Note





1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Item 2: Lower End Cap Assembly Removal Note





1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Item 4: Panel Assembly Removal Note





1. Remove the pushpins.





2. Remove the panel by prying rearward at the top of the panel.

Item 6: Transfer Case Control Module Removal Note





1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Item 1: Control Assembly Installation Note





1. Connect the electrical connectors.

Item 2: Lower End Cap Assembly Installation Note





1. Connect the electrical connector.

Item 4: Panel Assembly Installation Note





1. Install the pushpins.

Item 6: Transfer Case Control Module Installation Note





1. Connect the electrical connectors.
