Heater Core Case: Service and Repair




HEATER CORE HOUSING

REMOVAL
1. Remove the instrument panel. For additional information, refer to: Dashboard/Instrument Panel. Service and Repair
2. Drain the engine coolant.







3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.







4. Disconnect the electrical connector.







5. Remove the rear seat duct.
1 Position the seal aside.
2 Remove the screws.
3 Remove the rear seat duct.

6. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
7. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft.







8. Remove the RH cowl extension.
1 Remove the pin-type retainers.
2 Remove the nuts.
3 Remove the bolts.
4 Remove the extension.







9. Remove the LH cowl extension.
1 Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Remove the bolts.
3 Remove the extension.







10. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge valve.
- Disconnect the three hoses.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the nut and the evaporative emission canister purge valve.







11. Release the clamps and disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.







12. Remove the lower evaporator core housing nuts.







13. Remove the remaining lower evaporator core housing nut.







14. Remove the upper evaporator core housing nuts.







15. Detach the wiring clip and remove the nut at the dash panel.







16. Remove the nut at the dash panel.
17. Remove the heater core housing.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Fill the engine cooling system.
