Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE (CHT) SENSOR

1. Remove the intake manifold.

NOTE: The tip of the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor contacts the cylinder head at the bottom of the hole. When removed, it will be slightly crushed. This is a normal condition.






2. Remove the CHT sensor.
1 Disconnect the CHT electrical connector.
2 Remove and discard the CHT sensor.

NOTE: The CHT sensor is not to be reused. Always install a new sensor.

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
