Fuel Level Sensor: Service and Repair

FUEL PUMP MODULE

Removal
1. Remove the fuel tank.







2. Disconnect the pressure transducer electrical connector on the top rear corner of the fuel tank and release the two harness retainers from the tank.
3. Clean the area around the fuel pump mounting flange.







4. CAUTION: The fuel pump must be handled carefully to avoid damage to the float arm and the filter.

Remove the bolts and the fuel pump.

5. Remove and discard the fuel pump mounting gasket.

Installation
1. Clean the fuel pump mounting flange and the fuel tank mounting surface.
2. Install a fuel pump mounting gasket on the mounting flange.







3. NOTE: Tighten fuel pump bolts in a star pattern.

Install the fuel pump.
1. Position the fuel pump in the fuel tank and index the alignment marks.
2. Install the bolts.







4. Connect the pressure transducer connector on the top rear corner of the fuel tank and install the two harness retainers.
5. Install the fuel tank.
