Fluid Filter - A/T: Service and Repair

Fluid Pan, Gasket and Filter

Material:





Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.





2. Remove the 7 bolts and the splash shield.





3. Remove the drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain.





4. Install the drain plug.
^ Tighten to 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).





5. Remove the transaxle fluid pan.
^ Remove the bolts.
^ Using a suitable tool, separate the bead of sealer.
6. Clean the silicone from the transaxle fluid pan and transaxle case surfaces thoroughly with metal surface cleaner.

Installation





1. Apply a bead 1-1/2 millimeters thick of sealer to the transaxle on the fluid pan sealing surface.





2. Install the transaxle fluid pan.
^ Tighten to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
3. Install the splash shield.
4. Fill the transaxle with clean automatic transmission fluid.
