Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

Fig. 15 Inspection Of Idle Switch:

1. Start and operate engine at idle speed until normal operating temperature is obtained.
2. Connect a suitable tachometer onto engine as per manufacturer's instructions.
3. Connect a suitable voltmeter onto idle switch electrical connector terminals Fig. 15.
4. With engine at idle speed, voltmeter should indicate approximately 12 volts.
5. With engine speed at 1200-1300 RPM, voltmeter should indicate approximately 1.5 volts.
6. If voltage obtained is not as specified, turn idle switch adjusting screw until voltmeter indicates specified voltage.
