EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Fig. 29 Inspection Of Duty Solenoid Valve:

1. Remove air cleaner.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve.
3. Blow through vent tube and ensure air flows.
4. Disconnect electrical connector from duty solenoid valve.
5. Apply battery voltage to solenoid valve terminals Fig. 29.
6. Blow through vent tube and ensure air does not flow through valve.
7. If operation is not as described, replace valve.
