Air Injection Pump: Testing and Inspection

1. Run engine until it reaches operating temperature, then inspect hoses and connections for leaks and repair or replace as necessary.
2. Check air pump for excessive noise, replacing as necessary.
3. Check tension of air pump drive belt adjusting as necessary.
4. Disconnect hose from air pump outlet and install suitable tester to outlet then install tachometer.
5. Run engine at 1500 RPM. If gauge reading is not approximately 1.0 psi, replace pump.
