Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove engine under cover and drain engine oil.
4. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan, using screwdriver to separate oil pan from cylinder block.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply suitable sealant to oil pan contact surface in continuous bead inside of bolt holes.
b. Torque oil pan attaching bolts to 5-8 ft.lbs. Oil pan bolts must be completely tightened within 30 minutes after sealant is applied.
6. After completing installation, fill with specified quantity of engine oil, then start engine and check for leaks.
