SUBJECT Fuel Return Kit Modification



DESCRIPTION The fuel return kit introduced in the Service Bulletin, Category 4, 046/83, now includes
the guide plate for the fuel hose connector..




PARTS INFORMATION
NOTE: 1. The guide plate is also available separately as a service part (P/N E564 22 336). The original kit (P/N E564 99 075) should be used together with the guide plate.
2. With this change, the following new procedures for the fuel hose connector installation have been established instead of using the torquing method suggested in the previous Service Bulletin (Cat 4, 046/83).



FUEL HOSE CONNECTOR INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Wrap seal tape about 1-1/4 times around the thread of the new connector provided in the kit.

2. Install the connector and tighten it until the distance between the air horn body and the shoulder of the connector is 5 mm as shown.

3. Further tighten the connector until the pipes are in the proper direction for connecting the fuel hoses.

Note: Do not tighten the connector more than 1 turn or loosen it from the position set in step-2 to obtain the proper direction.

4. Install the guide plate as shown.

5. After completing the installation of the kit, start engine and check all fuel lines and connectors for leaks.
