Idle Speed: Adjustments

Precheck

Be sure the ignition timing, spark plugs, carburetor float level, etc., are all in normal operating condition.

1. Apply the parking brake and block the wheels.
2. Turn off all lights and other electrical loads. If electric cooling fan motor is operating adjustment should not be made until it has stopped.
3. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
4. Adjust the idle speed to specifications by turning the throttle adjust screw.

M/T: 850 rpm (neutral)
A/T: 750 rpm (D-range)
