Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove horn cap assembly.
3. Mark steering column shaft and steering wheel, and remove steering wheel. Do not strike the steering column shaft end with a hammer. Striking the shaft will damage the steering bearing or collapsible steering shaft.
4. Remove steering column cover.
5. If necessary, remove air duct and disconnect electrical connectors from combination switch.
6. Remove combination switch assembly from steering column.
7. Using a hammer and chisel, gently tap a groove into the ignition lock body attaching bolts. Using a screwdriver, loosen bolts and remove ignition lock from steering column.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
