Altitude Compensator: Testing and Inspection
The altitude compensator valve is used to supply additional air into the carburetor at high altitudes, preventing the excessively rich mixtures which result at these altitudes, due to low atmospheric pressures.
Testing
On 626 and GLC models, air should flow at an altitude of more than 3600 ft., and air should not flow at an altitude at or below 3600 ft.
On B2000, B2200 and B2600 models, air should flow at an altitude at or above 1640 ft. and should not flow at an altitude below 1640 ft.
