Spark Plug: Testing and Inspection

1. Prior to removal of spark plugs carefully disconnect the high tension leads by grasping the insulator boot. To prevent damage to the leads DO NOT pull on the wires themselves.
2. Visually inspect the spark plugs for the following conditions. If a defect is found replace the spark plug:
a. Check for damaged insulation.
b. Check for worn electrodes.
c. Check for carbon deposits. Clean with a wire brush if necessary.
d. Check for damaged gasket.

Plug gap: 1.4 +/- 0.05 mm (0.055 +/- 0.002 in.

3. When installing spark plugs apply moly paste (0259 77 767A or 0259 77 768A) to the threads of the spark plug.
4. Torque each spark plug to 13-18 N-m (0-13 ft.-lb.)
