Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect fuel hose from fuel filter. Cover hose with rag as fuel will be splashed out when disconnecting hose.
2. Connect pressure gauge to fuel filter.
3. Using three-way joint, connect pressure gauge between fuel hose and fuel filter.
4. Connect battery ground cable and start engine. Fuel pressure should measure 28-31 psi at idle.
5. Disconnect and block vacuum hose from pressure regulator. Fuel pressure should measure 37-41 psi.
6. If fuel pressure is not as specified, replace the pressure regulator.
