Fig. 22 Service connector location, EGI Control Unit:

1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Disconnect service connector to cancel inhibiting signal from EGI control unit Fig. 22.

Fig. 23 Knock control sensor connector:

3. Disconnect knock sensor connector, Fig. 23, and ensure ignition timing retards approximately 6°.
4. Reconnect knock sensor connector and ensure ignition timing advances gradually.
