Brake Pad, Replace

Replace left and right brake pads at the same time. Do not replace one wheel side only.
1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove lock pin bolt, then lift caliper from brake disc.
4. Remove V-spring and brake pads.
5. Reverse procedure to install. When installing brake pads, rotate piston clockwise with tool 49FA18602 or equivalent, and install new pads. Torque caliper attaching bolt to 22-30 ft.lbs.

Caliper, Replace

1. Raise and support rear of vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove lock pin bolt.
4. Disconnect and cap brake lines.
5. Remove caliper from brake disc.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

Caliper Overhaul

When overhauling caliper, refer to Fig. 11. When removing piston from caliper assembly, remove retainer and dust seal. Turn piston counterclockwise using tool 49FA18602 or equivalent and screw out piston from caliper assembly. Remove snap ring from caliper. Reverse numerical sequence in Fig. 11 for assembly.
