Blower Motor Relay: Testing and Inspection

Blower Resistor And Heater Relay:

BLOWER RESISTOR
1. Disconnect blower resistor harness from blower resistor.
2. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals [a] and [b]. Fig. A Resistance should be:

Approximately 2.2-2.6 Ohms at 68° F (20° C)

3. If resistance is not within specifications, replace blower resistor and recheck.

HEATER RELAY
1. Disconnect heater relay connector.
2. Connect positive battery lead to terminal [f] and negative lead to terminal [c]. Fig. E
3. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between [a] and [e].
4. Remove positive battery lead from terminal [f] and negative lead from terminal [c].
5. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between [a] and [b].
6. If relay does NOT have continuity in either test, replace relay and retest.
