Manual Transmission/Transaxle: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain transmission fluid.
3. Remove console box, then the gear shift lever.
4. Remove clutch release cylinder.
5. Remove exhaust pipe, then the engine and transmission under covers.
6. Remove propeller shaft.
7. Disconnect speedometer cable, then all transmission electrical connectors.
8. Remove starter motor.
9. Position suitable jack under transmission, then remove transmission crossmember.
10. Remove engine to transmission attaching bolts, then lower transmission from vehicle.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
