Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Properly discharge the AC system.


3. Remove the radiator grille and front parking lights.

4. Remove the lower refrigerant line bracket. Disconnect the lower refrigerant line and remove it. Cap all openings.

5. Remove the hood lock brace and center support bracket.

6. Disconnect the high and low side refrigerant lines. Cap all openings.

7. Remove the condenser attaching nuts and remove the condenser.

8. Install in reverse order. Use new 0-rings on all fittings. If a new condenser is installed, add 1.5 to 1.8 oz. of new oil to the compressor during charging.

9. Evacuate, recharge and test the system.
