Deceleration Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Actuate throttle lever and ensure dashpot rod extends quickly to its full stroke. Release throttle lever and ensure lever returns slowly to idle position after contacting dashpot rod.
2. Connect tachometer to engine.
3. Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached and continue to run at idle.
4. Slowly increase engine speed and ensure dashpot rod separates from throttle lever at 1900-2100 RPM. If engine speed is not within specifications, loosen locknut and adjust by turning dashpot.
