Boost Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

SOLENOID VALVE

1. Disconnect vacuum hose from solenoid valve. Blow through valve through port ``B,'' Fig. 5, and ensure air passes through valve and flows from air filter.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from solenoid valve and apply battery voltage to the valve.
3. Blow through valve through port ``B'' and ensure air passes through valve and flows from port ``A.''

1. Start engine and run until normal operating temperature is reached.
2. Connect voltmeter to solenoid valve LB terminal, Fig. 4.
3. Observe voltmeter with engine running. Voltmeter should indicate less than 2 volts below 2700 RPM and approximately 12 volts above 2700 RPM.
