Mixture Control Solenoid - Slow Cut: Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect the carburetor connector halves.2. Turn ignition ON and check harness side of carb connector (terminals with B/W wires) for battery voltage. If not, check wiring for open or short to ground.
3. Turn ignition OFF and re-connect carb electrical connector.
4. Turn ignition back ON and then OFF again, while listening to the slow fuel cut solenoid. Solenoid should click each time the ignition is turned ON or OFF. If not, replace solenoid.
5. Start engine and let idle.
6. Disconnect carb electrical connector. Engine should die. If not, check solenoid valve for proper installation. If valve needle and spring are not missing, replace solenoid.
