DESCRIPTION

If you receive a report of the clutch pedal returning slowly in extremely cold temperatures, remove the check valve and spring from the clutch master cylinder according to the procedures listed in this bulletin.

This modification has been applied on the mass production vehicles as follows.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Be sure not to spill any clutch fluid on painted surfaces. If fluid is spilled on a painted surface, wash it off immediately.

1. Disconnect the clutch pipe with the SST in accordance with the 1988 626/MX-6 Workshop Manual, page 6-6. *

2. Remove the joint bolt from the master cylinder. *

3. Remove the spring and valve from the master cylinder. *

4. Tighten the joint bolt to the specified torque of 83 - 108 N-m (8.5 - 11.0 m-kg, 61 - 80 ft.lbs.). *

5. Tighten the clutch pipe flare nut securely with the SST.

6. Bleed the line in accordance with the 1988 626/MX-6 Workshop Manual, page 6-12.

7. Verify that there is no fluid leakage.
