Inspection Procedure

NOTE:

Engine must be cold to perform this inspection (64-80~F).

1. If engine idles rough or stalls, remove and plug the vacuum hose at the fuel pressure regulator.

2. Start the engine and note idle quality. If rough idle is gone, install the repair kit.

3. If rough idle is still present, see Troubleshooting Guide in Section 4A of the Workshop Manual.

The repair kit cuts the vacuum applied to the fuel pressure regulator for 15 seconds after starting the engine if the engine temperature is between (64-80~F).
