Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect the connector from the throttle sensor.

2. Connect the throttle sensor adjustment tool (Mazda Part# 49 9200 165) to the throttle sensor using the adapter (Mazda Part# 49 9200 166). If the special tool or adapter are not available, use an ohmmeter.

Thickness Gauge Inserted Behind Stop Screw:

3. Using the following chart for proper thickness, insert a thickness gauge between the throttle stop screw and the stop lever.

Reference Chart:

4. If the throttle sensor readings do not match the chart, adjust the sensor.
