Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. Prior to disconnecting battery ground cable, deactivate audio system anti-theft, if equipped, refer to Accessories and Optional Equipment/Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc/Service and Repair.
2. Disarm airbag, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
3. Remove instrument panel, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Panel/Service and Repair.
4. Disconnect heater hoses from heater unit inlet and outlet tubes, Fig. 4. Plug hoses to prevent coolant leakage.
5. Remove heater unit attaching bolts, then the heater unit.
6. Remove heater core from heater unit as shown in Fig. 5.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
