Variable Induction Control Valve: Testing and Inspection




1. Disconnect vacuum hose from shutter valve actuator diaphragm, and connect vacuum pump.

2. Apply 15" - 18" Hg (380mm - 460mm Hg) vacuum to diaphragm and hold.

3. Check that diaphragm holds vacuum for 1 minute without any appreciable drop.

Replace diaphragm if leaking.

4. Release vacuum and re-apply. Check that shutter valve lever moves when vacuum is applied and released.
