Refer to Figs. 7 and 8, when performing this procedure.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge refrigerant from A/C system.
2. Disconnect intake and discharge lines from cooling unit fittings.
3. Remove cooling unit line grommets, then the glove compartment.
4. Disconnect A/C wire harness connectors.
5. Remove air duct retaining bands and instrument panel stay.
6. Remove cooling unit attaching nuts, then disconnect drain hose.
7. Remove cooling unit.
8. Remove cooling unit retaining clips, then separate case halves.
9. Remove evaporator core from lower case half.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Apply clean compressor oil to O-rings before connecting fittings.
