Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Fig. 2 Evaporator Unit Removal:





1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge refrigerant from cooling system.
2. Disconnect intake and discharge lines from cooling unit fittings.
3. Remove grommets from expansion valve.
4. Remove shower duct.
5. Remove I/P lower panel, then glove box.
6. Remove blower duct.
7. Remove sealing plates from evaporator unit, Fig. 2.
8. Disconnect A/C wiring harness from evaporator unit.
9. Remove drain hose, unit retaining nuts, then evaporator unit.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
