Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

NOTE: This adjustment procedure requires use of Mazda SST #49 F018 001 (checker lamp) or equivalent aftermarket tool.

Throttle Sensor Adjustment Tool:






1. Warm up engine and switch ignition "OFF."
2. Connect checker lamp to check connector (Green: 3-pin).
3. Loosen mounting bolts and move sensor to set correct closed position voltage as measured at ECU terminals 2F (0.75 - 1.25V) and 2G (0.25 - 1.25V). For further information, refer to COMPONENT TESTING.
4. Tighten bolts.
5. Turn ignition switch "ON" and check if one checker lamp illuminates.

Throttle Sensor Adjustment Screw:







6. If both lamps light or neither does, loosen nut and turn sensor adjusting screw until only one lamp is lit.
a. If both lamps illuminate, turn screw clockwise.
b. If neither lamp illuminates, turn screw counterclockwise.

7. Tighten nut after adjusting.

NOTE: Excessive pressure used to turn the screw may cause incorrect adjustment.
