Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

Inhibitor Switch Adjustment:

1. Remove select lever and place manual shaft in "N" position.
2. Loosen switch mounting nuts.
3. Remove screw on switch body and move switch so that screw hole is aligned with small hole inside switch. Check alignment by inserting a pin through holes (pin diameter approximately 0.079 in, 2.0 mm).
4. Tighten mounting nuts to 43 - 61 inlb (4.9 - 6.9 Nm) and remove pin.
5. Install and tighten screw in switch body.
6. Check continuity as described under COMPONENT TESTING.
7. If not as specified, replace inhibitor switch.
8 When work is completed, connect select lever and tighten nut to 33 - 47 ftlb (44 - 64 Nm).
