Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

After completion any on vehicle service procedure, verify system operation by checking airbag warning lamp. If system is operating normally, the warning lamp will come on when the ignition switch is turned On, then go Off after approximately 6 seconds.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove knee protector, then disconnect clock spring connectors (orange and blue).
3. Disconnect module and backup battery connections.
4. Remove module and backup battery attaching nuts, then the module and backup battery.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
