Clutch Switch: Testing and Inspection

NEUTRAL SWITCH

Neutral Switch Testing:

1. Disconnect the neutral switch connector.
2. Check switch continuity with an ohmmeter. With transmission in neutral, there should be continuity between switch terminals. With transmission in gear, there should be no continuity between switch terminals.
3. If not as specified, replace neutral switch.

Neutral switch input voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 1R. With transmission in neutral and ignition switch "ON," terminal voltage should be below 2.0V. In gear, voltage should be approximately 12V.

CLUTCH SWITCH

Clutch Switch Testing:

1. Disconnect clutch switch connector.
2. Check switch continuity with an ohmmeter. With clutch pedal depressed, there should be continuity between switch terminals. With clutch pedal released, there should be no continuity between switch terminals.
3. If not as specified, replace clutch switch.

Clutch switch input signal can be checked at ECU terminal 1Q with ignition "ON." With clutch pedal depressed, terminal voltage should be below 2.0V. With clutch pedal released, voltage should be approximately 12V.
