Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Oil Pressure Switch Testing:

1. Remove oil pressure switch from transmission.
2. Connect ohmmeter leads between sensor body and electrical connector.
3. Carefully apply air pressure to sensor with a rubber-tipped nozzle and check continuity.
4. Continuity should exist when pressure is less than 7.1 psi and should not exist when pressure is greater than 43 psi.
5. If not as specified, replace switch.
