Auto Trans

WITH A/C

1. Observe these conditions:
^ Transmission in PARK.
^ A/C "OFF".
^ Engine at operating temperature.
^ Engine idling at 800 - 850 rpm.

Idle-Up System:






2. Disconnect manifold vacuum hose from either idle-up solenoid and connect directly to port "a" on side of idle-up servo diaphragm. Diaphragm should retract and idle speed should increase to specified rpm.

1300 - 1500 rpm

Adjusting Idle-Up Speed:






3. If servo does not retract, replace it. If servo retracts but idle speed does not increase to specified range, adjust speed by turning adjustment screw.

4. Re-connect vacuum hose to port "A" and connect manifold vacuum hose to port "B" on top of servo. Servo should retract slightly and idle speed should increase to specified rpm.


920 - 970 rpm

Dual Stage Idle-up Servo:






5. If servo does not retract, replace it. If servo retracts but idle speed does not increase to specified range, disconnect vacuum hose from port "B" of servo and adjust by turning adjustment screw. Repeat test.

WITHOUT A/C

1. Observe these conditions:
^ Transmission in PARK.
^ Engine at operating temperature.
^ Engine idling at 800 - 850 rpm.

2. Disconnect manifold vacuum hose from idle-up solenoid at point "A" and connect directly to port on top of idle-up servo diaphragm. Diaphragm should retract and idle speed should increase to specified rpm.

920 - 970 rpm
