Timing Belt Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Lift up the vehicle.





3. Remove in the order shown in the figure above, referring to Removal Notes.

Removal Notes:

Pulley lock bolt:





1. Remove the plate mounting bolts, and then the plate.





2. Hold the pulley boss with the SST.
3. Using the SST, loosen the pulley lock bolt.
4. Remove the pulley lock bolt and pulley.

Timing belt:





1. Install the pulley lock bolt and turn the crankshaft. (the pin on the pulley boss faces up-right)

Caution: Do not turn the crankshaft while removing the pulley lock bolt.

2. Remove the timing belt.





Note: Mark the timing belt rotation for proper reinstallation if it is to be reused.
