Windshield Washer Switch: Service and Repair

A steering column-mounted multi-function switch provides electrical switching for operation of the turn and headlamp flash-to-pass signals, the hazard warning, the windshield washer and the windshield wiper.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On models equipped with tilt steering column, remove upper extension shroud by depressing top and bottom of shroud and releasing it from retaining plate on left side.
3. On all models, remove steering column trim shroud halves.
4. Remove two switch self-tapping retaining screws, then separate switch body from steering column casting.
5. Disconnect three electrical connectors.
6. Reverse procedure to install. On models equipped with automatic transmission, ensure shift indicator cable is properly adjusted.
