Power Steering Pressure Switch: Testing and Inspection

PURPOSE
Signals PCME when P/S system pressure increases in conjunction with turning steering wheel. PCME uses sensor input in its calculations for idle speed and A/C cut-off.

LOCATION
On power steering pump.

OPERATION
Switch is "ON" (shows continuity) when steering wheel is turned and system pressure increases to provide assist.
