Regulator S and/or I Circuit Test

1. Disconnect regulator plug.
2. Connect a jumper wire from regulator terminal A and and plug terminal A.
3. Connect a jumper wire from regulator terminal F and alternator rear housing.
4. With engine idling and voltmeter negative lead connect battery ground and positive lead to regulator plug S terminal then to regulator plug I terminal.
5. Voltage at terminal S should read 1/2 of voltage at terminal I.
6. If voltage reading are as specified replace regulator, connect wiring plug perform LOAD TEST.
7. If no voltage is present, remove jumper wires and service faulty wiring or alternator.
8. Connect voltmeter positive lead to battery positive terminal. Connected wiring plug to regulator, perform LOAD TEST.
