Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

Intake Air System R&R:

COMPONENTS
1. Air duct
2. Air cleaner
3. Air flow sensor
4. Intake air hose
5. Accelerator cable
6. Throttle body
7. BAC valve
8. Air intake pipe
9. Dynamic chamber
10. Shutter valve actuator (VICS)
11. Shutter valve (VICS)
12. Injector
13. Fuel distributor
14. Intake manifold
15. Vacuum chamber

WARNING: Relieve fuel system pressure. Keep sparks, cigarettes, and open flames away when replacing fuel system components.

1. Drain cooling system and remove components in order shown.
2. Inspect intake air system components and repair or replace as necessary.
3. Install in reverse order.

INSTALLATION NOTES

Installing Manifold Nuts And Washers:

1. Install intake manifold washers with white paint mark up.

Manifold Torque Sequence:

2. Tighten nuts in 2 steps in sequence shown. Torque to 14 - 19 ft lb (19 - 25 Nm).
