Brake Signal: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Signal PCME when brakes are applied. Signal is interpreted as a deceleration indicator and, together with other inputs, causes PCME to cut fuel injection to compensate for reduced demand.

LOCATION
Brake pedal bracket beneath dash.

OPERATION
This is an ON/OFF switch wired to signal the PCME when brakes are applied (current flowing in brake light circuit).
