Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

Located on the transmission, the neutral switch signals the PCM that the gear selector is either in neutral or any other position.

The
clutch switch is operated by the clutch pedal inside the vehicle and informs the PCM that the clutch is either engaged or disengaged.
