A/C Signal: Description and Operation

A/C Cut-Off System:

PURPOSE
The ECU cuts A/C system operation at specified times to improve starting, improve idle smoothness just after starting, improve driveability and acceleration performance, and to prevent engine overheating.

OPERATION
A/C is cut under these conditions:
^ For approximately 2 seconds after engine start
^ For approximately 10 seconds when the throttle is fully open
^ For approximately 3 seconds on acceleration from stop
^ When P/S pressure switch is ON and atmospheric pressure is below 22.0 inHg (560 mmHg)
^ Coolant temperature is above 248°F (120°C), and until it falls to 239°F (115°C)
