Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Removal/Inspection/Installation
1. Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
2. Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.

Removal Note

Drive plate
1. Lock the drive plate by using the SST or equivalent.
2. Remove the drive plate.




Installation Note

Drive plate
1. Assemble the adapter, drive plate, and backing plate.
2. Apply sealant to the drive plate bolts and install them.
3. Hold the drive plate by using the SST or equivalent.
4. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps in the order shown.

Tightening torque:
B6: 91 - 102 N.m (9.8 - 10.5 kg.m, 11 - 75.9 ft.lb)
K8: 61 - 67 N.m (6.2 - 6.9 kg.m, 45 - 49 ft.lb)
