Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Detects changes in barometric pressure corresponding to changes in altitude from sea level.

LOCATION
Integral part of ECU.

OPERATION
Pressure changes are converted to an electrical signal and used by the ECU in its calculations for fuel injection quantity and idle speed.
