Clutch Switch: Description and Operation
Clutch Switch:
Neutral Switch:
PURPOSE
The neutral switch signals the ECU that the gear selector is either in neutral or any other position. The clutch switch informs the ECU that the clutch is either engaged or disengaged.
LOCATION
On transmission.
OPERATION
These are ON/OFF switches. Inputs are used by the ECU in calculations for:
^ Fuel injection quantity
^ Idle speed control valve
^ Purge control solenoid valve
^ Igniter (timing control)
