Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Variable Reluctance Sensor (VRS):

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove sensor mounting screws and remove sensor.
4. Position new sensor assembly on engine and install mounting screws. Tighten to 75 - 106 in.lbs (8.5 - 12 Nm).
5. Ensure that sensor wiring harness is properly routed and plug connector into sensor.
6. Reconnect negative battery cable.
