Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Separate electrical connector from speed sensor.
2. Disconnect speedometer cable from sensor.
3. Remove retaining bolt and pull sensor straight out.
4. Remove retaining clip and driven gear as shown on image.

INSTALLATION

1. Install driven gear and retaining clip as shown on image.
2. Install speedometer cable into sensor and push sensor fully into the transmission mounting hole.
3. Screw in retaining bolt and tighten to 20 - 25 in.lbs (2.24 - 2.82 Nm).
4. Plug in electrical connector.
